SNDE hands out two awards at the annual SNDE symposium; Richard T. Baillie award in Time Series Modeling and the SNDE Young Scholars Award.
- Richard T. Baillie award in Time Series Modeling of USD$500 is handed out for the best paper in time series presented at the Symposium by a “young researcher”, as defined as either a current student or someone that is less than eight years out of graduate school. This prize is generously donated to the SNDE society by Professor Richard T Baillie, member of the SNDE Executive Committee. For more details, see here.

Awards in 2025
Kiyea Jin, from University of California Berkley, the winner of the Times Series award with her paper entitled Taylor Rule Asymmetries joint with Anastasia Zervou. In the below picture, the winner is between the president Francesco Ravazzolo and the Executive Committee member Yoosoon Chang.

Lovisa Reiche, from Oxford University, is the winner of the Young Scholar Award with the paper entitled Gender Wage Gap: The Role of Belief Frictions for Wage Bargaining jointly with Nicolò Maffei-Faccioli.

Awards in 2024

Richard T. Baillie award in Time Series Modeling
Maximilian Schröder (BI Norwegian Business School) received the Baillie award for the best paper in time series modeling presented at the 2024 SNDE Symposium by a “young researcher”, as defined as either a current student or someone that is less than eight years out of graduate school. The paper is titled “Mixing it Up: Inflation at Risk.” In the above picture, Tobias is the second on the right of the president, Francesco Ravazzolo.
SNDE Young Scholars Award
Tobias Müller (Boston College) won the SNDE Young Scholars Award for the best paper presented at the 2024 SNDE Symposium by a graduate student. The paper is titled: “Fiscal Policy in a Multisector Heterogeneous Agent Economy” (joint with Shane McMiken). In the above picture, Tobias is the first on the right of the president, Francesco Ravazzolo.

Marko Mlikota (University of Pennsylvania) received the Baillie award for the best paper in time series modeling presented at the 2023 SNDE Symposium by a “young researcher”, as defined as either a current student or someone that is less than eight years out of graduate school. The paper is titled “Cross-Sectional Dynamics Under Network Structure: Theory and Macroeconomic Applications.”
SNDE Young Scholars Award
Livia Paranhos (University of Warwick) won the SNDE Young Scholars Award for the best paper presented at the 2023 SNDE Symposium by a graduate student. The paper is titled: “How Do Firms’ Financial Conditions Influence the Transmission of Monetary Policy? A Non-Parametric Perspective”.

Richard T. Baillie award in Time Series Modeling
Nicolò Maffei-Faccioli (Norges Bank) received the Baillie award for the best paper in time series presented at the Workshop by a “young researcher”, as defined as either a current student or someone that is less than eight years out of graduate school. The paper is on “Nonlinear Transmission of Financial Shocks: Some New Evidence,” joint work with Mario Forni, Luca Gambetti, and Luca Sala.
SNDE Young Scholars Award
Oliver Pfäuti (University of Mannheim) received the SNDE Young Scholars Award for the best paper presented at the 2022 SNDE meetings by a graduate student. The paper is on “A Behavioral Heterogeneous Agent New Keynesian Model,” joint work with Fabian Seyrich.
Awards in 2021
Richard T. Baillie award in Time Series Modeling
Gergely Ganics (John von Neumann University), Ina Hajdani (Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland) and Quint Wiersma (VU Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam) will be splitting the Baillie award for the best paper in time series presented at the Workshop by a “young researcher”, as defined as either a current student or someone that is less than eight years out of graduate school.
SNDE Young Scholars Award
Adam Lee, a Ph.D. candidate in Economics at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, won the SNDE Young Scholars Award for the best paper presented at the Workshop for Young Researchers by a graduate student.
